Different Strokes #1: Where the wild things are

Many people have commented on how similar Riley and Reece look. I don't really agree but yes, I do see the similarities. When Reece was younger, the differences in character were not so obvious. But now that he's growing up into his own little person, it's become clearer to Weng and myself what the differences are in terms of character.

Difference #1: Where the wild things are

The biggest difference is how Reece is NOT afraid of the dark. This is a complete contrast to Riley - who is still afraid of going anywhere in the flat on his own at night. Even when the lights are turned on. -_-"

Riley whines about the toys in his playroom looking at him. He imagines he hears weird sounds and has woken up at night refusing to go to bed because he thinks he saw a butterfly there earlier. When he needs the toilet in the evenings, one of us has to accompany him. Otherwise, he'd rather pee in his pants. Really.

But Reece is such a gung-ho little trooper in comparison. He goes anywhere on his own at night, whether or not anyone follows him. He'll happily wander from room to room and is most happy to sit in the dark and play on his own - if we allowed him to do so. He's even done what Riley couldn't do till he was three - woken up in the middle of the night and walked out of the bedroom to go look for his parents who are still watching tv. Riley would have opened his eyes and started wailing.
